Fran Churchill to Join K-State as New NAMA Instructor of Milling

Washington, DC—North American Millers’ Association (NAMA) Board member Breck Barton, Cereal Food Processors, Inc. reported Jan. 11 that Fran Churchill, a K-State alumna and an experienced miller, will join the Grain Science and Industry Department at Kansas State University as the new NAMA funded Instructor of Milling in the Milling Science and Management program.

Churchill has more than 20 years of milling industry experience.

“The milling industry hires many K-State graduates.

"Fran Churchill will provide the kind of hands on instruction and education the milling industry wants K-State graduates to have when they come to work in our mills,” said Barton.

Barton chairs the NAMA Milling Science and Operations Committee and participated in the search process.

“The milling science management program is the only university program in the U.S. that provides education and training for the next generation of mill managers and technology specialists, and the position at K-State is an investment in the human capital important to the industry,” Mary Waters, NAMA president said.

"We are very excited about Fran Churchill joining our faculty as the NAMA instructor of milling science and management,” Dirk Maier, K-State grain science and industry department head said.

“NAMA’s funding of this faculty position reflects the priority its member companies place on enhancing the future workforce by recruiting, educating and preparing the next generation of milling industry professionals.”
