IAOM Announces Schedule Changes For Annual Conference and Expo in Spokane, WA

Date Posted: January 31, 2012

Overland Park, KS—The International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM) will hold its 116th annual conference and expo in Spokane, Washington, from May 7-11, 2012, at the Davenport Hotel, and the Spokane Convention Center.

According to Melinda Farris, IAOM executive vice president, the 2012 conference will be different from those of the recent past.

“We’ve taken a close look at the format and have decided to make some changes to the conference schedule for Spokane,” she said.

“The biggest changes are that all award winners will be announced during the opening breakfast on Wednesday.

"The IAOM annual business meeting and presentation of Safety Awards will now take place at a new, Thursday breakfast.

"The final dinner will focus on the International Milling Education Foundation (IMEF) – and feature a live auction fundraiser.

"IMEF contributors who have reached a new level of giving over the past year will be recognized at the dinner as well.”

The expo and educational sessions are scheduled for May 9-10. The association’s board and committee meetings will be held during the days preceding the conference.

A golf tournament is scheduled for May 11, as a close to the meeting.

“We expect around 800 grain milling professionals and allied trade representatives from across North America and around the world,” stated Joe Woodard, IAOM president.

“We’ve had very successful joint district, committee and board meetings in Spokane, and I think the people who have attended those meetings are exciting to return to the city.

"It’s a beautiful place, and there are a lot of things to do in the area.”

The IAOM Expo has the hottest trends, materials, equipment, techniques and information you need – all under one roof.
