Cargill and Horizon Milling Showcase Health Innovations and Risk Management at Canada Bakery Showcase

Minneapolis, MN—Cargill and Horizon Milling will showcase fresh ideas to help bakers grow their businesses at the Bakery Association of Canada’s Bakery Showcase, May 6-8, 2012, at International Centre in Toronto, Ontario.

Visitors to Cargill’s booth (#817) can learn more about these topics and sample four food prototypes.

To help customers grow with healthier products, Cargill will feature:

• A reduced sodium chocolate cookie with white chocolate drizzle, featuring the SaltWise® sodium reduction system and Wilbur™ Platinum™ white chocolate – a delightfully indulgent treat that has 50 percent less sodium than a traditional cookie.

• A breakfast cookie featuring Oliggo-Fiber® inulin provides digestive health benefits, such as increased fiber without compromising on taste or texture.

• A shelf stable vanilla cookie featuring Clear Valley® omega-3 shortening has a clean taste and mouthfeel and satisfies the growing consumer demand to incorporate omega-3 fatty acids into their diets.

Helping customers grow with products displaying cleaner labels; booth attendees can taste:

• Unfrosted layer cakes featuring new Robin Hood® cake bases that can be used to create great-tasting treats with no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Available in vanilla, chocolate and dark chocolate.

Helping customers grow smarter, the Horizon Milling risk management team will share insights regarding the wheat market and the solutions available to manage commodity driven risk during a presentation on Monday, May 7 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. in the Aquarius Room.

They will also provide perspectives on the Canadian Wheat Board changes and their impact on the industry.
