The IAOM Milling Maintenance I Course will be offered on Oct. 22-24 in Kansas City, Mo.
A very full schedule of maintenance topics are planned, including: bearings; gates and valves; belts, chains, and power transmissions; electric motors; sifters; process auditing; and automation.
The IAOM Education Committee has been working to overhaul the maintenance courses they offer.
"We want to ensure that the material is accurate, up-to-date, and relevant," said Lionel Helweg, Education Committee chairman.
IAOM will bring in experts from the industry's equipment manufacturers and suppliers to teach various parts of the course, including Pepper Maintenance, IBT, Independent Electric, Martin Sprocket & Gear, and Vortex Valves. During a tour of Great Western Mfg., Co., participants will have the opportunity to learn more about sieve and sifter maintenance.
Dr. Jeff Gwirtz, JAG Services, will moderate the course.
The Hyatt Place Hotel at the Kansas City airport will be the venue for the three-day course.
