RSB Services Foundation Adds Aurea Nardelli to Team

McLean, VA—The RSB Services Foundation, the implementing entity of the Roundtable on Sustainable Biofuels (RSB) which has developed a Global Sustainability Standard and Certification System for biofuel production, is pleased to announce that Dr. Aurea Nardelli has joined the nonprofit organization as Regional Director for Business Development in South America.
Dr. Nardelli has 20 years of experience related to sustainability, environment and climate change.
She has a strong knowledge and work experience related to sustainability standards and certification systems in the context of forestry and agriculture value chains in Brazil and other South American countries.
In her past roles as a forestry engineer, independent lead auditor for SGS, consultant at ProForest and other organizations, and graduate professor, she had the opportunity to lead diverse teams and to have dialogue with diverse stakeholders.
In her new role with RSB Services, Dr. Nardelli will help expand RSB’s outreach in Brazil and other South American countries.
Her perspective from being a lead auditor will be especially valuable for biofuel entities pursuing RSB certification.
Latin America and Brazil,in particular have for many years been among the pioneers in the development of biofuels and sustainable agriculture. “For a while now, we have had team members travelling to and from South America to serve our clients and prospects in the region” says Peter Ryus, CEO of RSB Services Foundation.
“With the addition of Aurea, RSB Services Foundation now has a very experienced industry specialist on the ground who can help biofuel entities seeking RSB sustainability certification and tools.”
The RSB Services Foundation is a US based non-profit organization formed to manage a broad range of operational activities on behalf of the RSB Standards Body, including the certification process and oversight of licensing and use of the trademark.
Its team develops and manages the tools to facilitate the global adoption of the RSB standard and to support the continued work of RSB Standards through education, training and communications programs.
