Aldon Company, Inc. Introduces Derail Adapter Plate For Steel Ties

Date Posted: June 19, 2009

Waukegan, IL—Aldon Company, Inc. introduced its new derail adapter plate for installing hinged derails in railroad track supported on steel ties instead of wooden ties.

The company states that the new product fills a need created by the growing use of steel ties for industrial rail siding.

The derail adapter plate can be installed without disruption of existing track structure.

The 1-inch thick steel plate is welded to three steel ties in the track.

The plate is pre-drilled at the factory for bolt-mounting a custom-height one-way or two-way Aldon Hinged Derail.

Notches on the sides of the plate avoid contact with rail clips.

Aldon offers a complete line of hinged, retractable, and portable derails, as well as a line of derail accessories.
