American Feed Industry Assn. Announces August Deadline for Centennial Photos and Memorabilia

Date Posted: August 5, 2008

One hundred years ago this coming March, the American Feed Industry Association took root.

Now, 100 years later, the organization representing the total feed industry is going strong with more than 500 members.

As the voice of the total feed industry, AFIA provides legislative and regulatory expertise, confidential and individualized customer service and unparalleled membership services.

With all this history, imagine a place where you can encounter the past intertwined with the current accomplishments of AFIA and our members.

Imagine a place where you can view beautiful preserved artifacts and iconic memorabilia from historically significant events in the past century.

AFIA is planning to provide you with just such opportunities through a few projects we are planning for our centennial celebration.

We hope all our efforts leading up to the 2009-2010 celebration provide sources for celebration and reflection and secure a united front for the future.

These three themes embody the spirit behind the various missions and goals AFIA tries to offer its members every day.

As we continue to comb through our archives, it has become obvious that our members and their accomplishments are the key to the splendor and success our organization has had.

In order to capture this message, we need your help.

The Centennial Task Force is currently collecting artifacts and memorabilia to display during the centennial celebration.

To provide an accurate look at the past 100 years, we need your help with historical photos and remembrances.

We hope you can join in the centennial celebration preparations and add some of the photos and history from your collection to help us create an accurate timeline.

We realize these are valued heirlooms to your organization and the history of the industry.

Please let us know if you are willing to contribute to this collaboration.

AFIA staff promises to care for and return your artifacts in a timely and safe manner.

Please email Alexa Stanco at astanco@afia.org to talk about further details.

We appreciate any guidance and help you can provide as we begin to prepare for our upcoming American Feed Industry Association Centennial Celebration.

Because preparations must begin far in advance and certain projects are already underway, it would be most helpful if we heard from you during August.
