Cenex Handi-Stop Gas Station in Renville, MN Celebrates Grand Opening on Dec. 14 With Biofuels DiscountDate Posted: December 13, 2007 Renville, MNIf you drive a vehicle with a flex-fuel or diesel engine, the Cenex Handi-Stop at 612 E. Park Avenue in Renville, MN has a deal for you. To celebrate its grand opening, the co-op will discount the price of E85 by 50 cents per gallon, and lower the price of B2 biodiesel fuel by 10 cents a gallon (30 gallon limit on either fuel) from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14. E85 is an alternative fuel consisting of up to 85 percent ethanol and just 15 percent gasoline. The 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. special promotion is being promoted by American Lung Association of Minnesota, a strong supporter of biodiesel and E85. “There are an estimated 150,000 vehicles on the road in Minnesota right now that can use either E85 or gasoline, and more than 325 stations in Minnesota that sell this cleaner-burning fuel,” said Lisa Thurstin, clean fuels and vehicle technologies program manager for the American Lung Association of Minnesota. “We think that drivers deserve a ‘clean air choice’ at the pump, and we think many people will choose less polluting biofuels that are largely renewable, less expensive and produced locally.” Thurstin noted that E85 should only be used in flex-fuel vehicles. The promotion is being offered by Farmers Coop Oil, Renville County Corn & Soybean Growers, Minnesota Corn Growers Association, Minnesota Soybean Growers Association, National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition, General Motors Corporation, U. S. Department of Energy Clean Cities, American Lung Association of Minnesota and the Minnesota E85 Team. Grain News
