Clean Fuels Ohio to Hold Statewide Biodiesel Quality Seminars Throughout SeptemberDate Posted: August 28, 2007 Clean Fuels Ohio will be holding four seminars throughout the state called Ensuring Biodiesel Quality. These programs are designed to give biodiesel producers, distributors and retailers the necessary tools to provide quality fuel to their customers. Whether you’re a fuel distributor or retailer, Ensuring Biodiesel Quality will teach you what you need to know for biodiesel sourcing, blending and management that will keep your customers coming back. This low-cost seminar featuring Leland Tong, Chairman of the National Biodiesel Accreditation Commission and consultant to National Biodiesel Board is sponsored by the National Biodiesel Foundation and Ohio Soybean Council. The Ohio Soybean Council and the Ohio Department of Agriculture have collaborated to develop the State of Ohio Biodiesel Quality Testing Program. This voluntary program is designed to assist in-state producers and distributors by collecting biodiesel samples on a random basis and providing the samples to an accredited laboratory for ASTM D 6751 compliance testing. “The new biodiesel quality testing program will make a big impact in improving the confidence of blenders, retailers and consumers,” remarked Sam Spofforth, Executive Director of Clean Fuels Ohio. “By ensuring that biodiesel will work reliably with any diesel vehicle, the Department of Agriculture is investing in the state’s economy and helping reduce our dependence on petroleum.” Doug O’Brien, Assistant Director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture, will be on hand to discuss the new State of Ohio Biodiesel Quality Testing Program at all four programs. Numerous success stories have taught shown that blended biodiesel will perform well in any type of diesel engine throughout the entire year. Yet bad things can happen if the product fails to meet industry specs or is not blended and handled properly. By handling biodiesel correctly, customers will enjoy the benefits of biodiesel, refer other customers, and grow your business. Do things incorrectly and both you and biodiesel get a bad reputation. This seminar will help you earn the rewards by getting biodiesel right. All sessions run 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are included each day.
