Eco-Friendly Clothing Business Offers Intimates Made From Soy Casings

Date Posted: January 26, 2012

Los Angeles, CA—In FaeriesDance.com’s very first press release more than 6 years ago, they marveled at a new fabric, Azlon, that had been developed using the fibrous outer casings of soy beans which would otherwise be thrown out during tofu manufacturing.

The casings are reclaimed, mixed with organically grown cotton and processed using a closed-loop system that minimizes waste and ensures no chemicals are dumped into the environment.

The resulting fabric is eco-friendly with quite a bit of natural stretch.

That first line in 2005 included tops and dresses, but even then Adrienne Catone, FaeriesDance.com’s owner, wondered why this fantastic fabric wasn’t being used for intimates.

A few years ago, FaeriesDance.com found soy fabric panties.

They were mostly conservative styles with a boy short and high cut brief from Dream Designs, a company hailing out of Canada.

Last year Echo Verde, another Canadian company, added a Soy Bodice Bra to the line of soy intimates.

Finally in 2012, Catone found what she has been looking for – a sexy line of soy and organic cotton bras and panties trimmed with lace and low-impact dyed in several beautiful colors.

The line is sewn in the USA by Xylem Clothing.

The fabrics are fair trade and sweatshop free.

The Soy Lace Intimates are available now at FaeriesDance.com.

Prices start at just $25 per bra and $16 per panty.
