Fagen, Inc. Partners With Frontline BioEnergy to Market and Construct Biomass Gasification Systems to Displace Natural Gas Use at Industrial Facilities

Date Posted: June 18, 2008

Granite Falls, MN—Fagen, Inc. is joining forces with Frontline BioEnergy to provide biomass gasification systems to displace natural gas at industrial facilities.

This strategic partnership combines the extensive project development and construction expertise of Fagen, Inc. with the novel gasification technology developed by Frontline.

“Fagen, Inc. has evaluated various gasification technologies that are available and identified the unique benefits that Frontline’s technology offers when integrated with gas fired facilities.

"We feel that Frontline’s technology is a great fit for our capabilities and markets,” said Ron Fagen, CEO and President of Fagen, Inc.

Frontline’s biomass gasification process converts a wide variety plant matter such as wood residues, corn cobs, and prairie grasses into a clean combustible gas that can be used like natural gas.

With a Frontline gasifier an industrial facility can switch their existing gas-fired steam boilers, heaters, and dryers to this biomass-generated producer gas.

This allows them to utilize a renewable fuel, decrease their fossil carbon emissions, and reduce energy costs.

Industrial facilities such as ethanol producers, food and feed processors, and wood and paper mills typically use a significant amount of natural gas and are near an abundant source of biomass.

“With Fagen, Inc.’s marketing and construction capability, this arrangement will accelerate the commercialization of our technology.

"High natural gas prices negatively impact many industries including fuel ethanol production.

"Our equipment can help these industries perform better economically and Fagen, Inc. will be a great teammate to make our technology accessible to them,” said Norman Reese, general manager of Frontline BioEnergy.
