Fremont Industries Launches 'Biofuels Group' Division to Provide Specialized Water ServicesDate Posted: April 1, 2008 Shakopee, MNFremont Industries has launched a new divisionthe Biofuels Groupto offer specialized water services to the biofuels industry. The new division will help the ethanol industry take another leap in environmental stewardship with a process that significantly reduces typical solid discharge levels from the water used during ethanol production. "The biofuels industry has been a significant market for Fremont for almost 20 years," said Phillip Maloy, director of strategic marketing for the Biofuels Group. "And the recent formation of the new division provides even more focused and committed resources to the unique needs of the ethanol industry," Malloy added. Since its inception, the Biofuels Group has elevated the standards for water treatment companies by developing a cost competitive zero-liquid, and for some plants, a zero-solids discharge technology. The innovative technology allows ethanol plants to recycle and reuse wastewater streams as an alternative to discharge. "Starting with a plant's re-engineered water balance, the design team optimizes current water use and then focuses on recycle and reuse options combined with creative equipment applications to reduce the environmental impact of the discharged water," explained Chris Robbins, national sales manager of the Biofuels Group. "The result is reduced or elimination of plant water discharge," Robbins said. Fremont Industries, a company with over 50 years experience in the water treatment industry, is an active proponent of the biofuels industry. They are the first and only water treatment company whose entire automobile fleet is E85. In addition, they were one of the first to become a member of the Ethanol Promotion and Information Council (EPIC) as well as an IndyCar® Series sponsor of the #17 Team Ethanol/Rahal Letterman Racing IndyCar. "A key component of our successful biofuels efforts in the past, and to the new biofuels division for the future, is long term commitment of its people," said Bill Mill, director of business development for Biofuels Group. “With a typical employee’s tenure exceeding 13 years with Fremont and a sales department whose experience in water treatment averages 15 years, Fremont looks forward to the future and to even greater success with the addition of the new Biofuels Group." Mill added. For more information, call 402-932-0567. Top Stories
