GEAPS and IAOM to Hold 13th Annual Great Lakes Regional Conference ... Angola, IN ... April 15-17Date Posted: December 31, 2008
GEAPS members in three chapters--along with two districts within the International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM)–-have scheduled another joint educational conference and table-top trade show this spring at Pokagon State Park in Indiana. This 13th annual Great Lakes Regional Conference will be held April 15–17, 2009 (Wed.–Fri.) outside of Angola, IN. Some 200 people are expected to participate in the show from 5 states and the Province of Ontario. The three GEAPS Chapters, namely: Michigan, Southern Ontario, Seaway, and Hoosier, along with two IAOM Districts have again organized this popular regional function. The program will look as follows: Wednesday, April 15: The program begins with a Tri-Chapter leadership meeting with GEAPS International Presentation at 5:30 PM. A social get together will be held for everyone in attendance that evening between 7:30 – 10:00 PM. Thursday, April 16: Professor Hollingsworth will address the group at a Continental breakfast to begin the day between 7:30 – 8:45 AM on Thursday. This will be followed by pod-sessions that will include 5 hours of training on Arc Flash (NFPA–70E) issues, along with a session by Emerson Power. Educational sessions will run concurrently with the pod-sessions and cover the following: • Contractor Safety • Ethanol Update • Employee Handbooks • Dealing with Troubled Employees • Dryer Efficiency Friday morning, April 17: The morning educational sessions will address: • Toshiba Motors • Energy Audits • Update of ( 4 – 5 ) regulatory issues • Safety Programs There will be an optional golf-outing that Friday afternoon.
