On July 16, I interviewed Jay Fitzgerald, Vice President of Advance Trading, Inc.

He spoke on the following topics:

Jay Fitzgerald received his degree in agricultural economics from the University of Illinois and serves as Vice President of Advance. His background includes merchandising and management of rail and river terminals, Central Marketing Coordinator for a grain and barge transportation company, and Regional Manager for an international grain trading firm. Jay brings with him over 29 years of experience in trading both domestic and export grains, specialty grains, and barge freight.

Jay provides merchandising consulting and brokerage for agribusiness across the Midwest. Since 1999 Jay has organized annual tours of Brazil and has introduced over 500 US agribusiness people to Brazil agriculutre. Jay often speaks on the impact and importance of Brazilian agriculture in the global marketplace. Under Jay's guidance Advance Trading opened two offices in Brazil to offer producer risk management and elevator consulting.
