Houston, TX--Gulf Ethanol Corp. (OTC:GFET) announced on Oct. 16 its board’s approved for negotiations with Meridian Biorefining Corporation of Dallas, TX.

Meridian Biorefining Corp develops advanced processing and biofuels refining technology for primary and downstream processing.

JT Cloud, Gulf Ethanol’s President, stated, “The long term success of ethanol as an alternative fuel must be based on the development of efficient non-food sources for ethanol production.”

Most recently Chet Gutowski, an independent financial analyst stated, “Gulf Ethanol is an emerging player in the rapidly expanding ethanol industry.

"Government mandates and general acceptance by the transportation industry are expected to support strong growth in the industry for many years.”

Gulf Ethanol is an emerging participant in the rapidly expanding ethanol industry and, according to Mr. Gutowski’s report, “has a strong growth prospect that will rise among its peer group over the next year as it competes with such companies as Panda Ethanol (OTC: PDAE), Archer Daniels Midland (NYSE: ADM), and Aventine Renewable Energy NYSE: AVR) and others.”
