IL Congressman Shimkus and Ag Advisory Board Visit GSI Group Manufacturing Plant

Congressman John Shimkus and his team chose to hold their semi-annual agricultural advisory board meeting at GSI Group’s global headquarters in Assumption, IL.

One by one the conference room filled with Illinois’s finest agricultural representation.

GSI’s executives joined for a presentation from Congressman Shimkus and GSI Group CEO, Scott Clawson.

The group heard updates on agriculturally related happenings in Washington DC and in the state of Illinois.

After Shimkus’ presentation listeners were able to ask questions and voice concerns.

Clawson reported on GSI Group’s position including state of industry and product updates.

The meeting ended with a tour of GSI’s Assumption facility where grain storage and accessories are manufactured.

GSI Group hosts five manufacturing facilities in the state of Illinois.

Outside of Assumption, Newton and Flora, IL produce grain drying equipment, Taylorville, IL create protein systems and Paris, IL manufacture grain handling equipment.

GSI Group employs 1,500 workers domestically and 2,500 globally.
