International Feed Expo & International Poultry Expo Jan. 28-29, 2009 in Atlanta, GADate Posted: Apr. 27, 2008 Selected For Commerce Department's International Buyer Program Arlington, VAThe American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) will hold the 2009 International Feed Expo (IFE) January 28-30, 2009 at the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, GA. For the third year, the Expo will be co-located with the International Poultry Expo (IPE). The 2008 Expo attracted record attendance with over 20,000 attendees and nearly 900 exhibitors showcasing the latest products, services, and technology for the industry. Acknowledged as the world's largest trade shows for the feed, egg and poultry industries, IFE and IPE attendees come from every sector of agriculture, including nine of the top ten commercial U.S. feed manufacturers. The event is a great opportunity for networking, buyers and sellers to meet, and to get updated on the latest industry innovations. An additional benefit is that IFE and IPE have been selected for inclusion in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s 2009 International Buyer Program. This program is designed to recruit foreign buyer delegations from U.S. embassies abroad and take them to trade shows in order to match them with American businesses interested in exporting. This promotes international attendance at the Expos, which attracted nearly 4,000 international visitors from over 100 countries at the 2008 shows, and it increases opportunities for U.S. exhibitors to meet and network with overseas purchasers. Several companies that have participated in the program in past years have each completed $1 million transactions. Exhibitor applications for the 2009 Expo are now being accepted. For an application, visit the IFE website or AFIA website or contact Sarah Novak. See Related Websites/Articles: Association News
