OMAHA, NE—Intersystems, a leading designer and manufacturer of specialized material handling equipment serving the global agriculture industry, announced Dec. 6 David Gau as its new chief executive officer.
Gau, 48, is an Omaha native with a history of building and operating multi-national organizations, most recently as executive vice president of global commercial operations for Gates Corp.
Gates Corp. is a $2.9 billion manufacturer of advanced power transmission and fluid transfer solutions, with more than 14,000 employees across 106 locations in 30 countries.
Prior to joining Gates Corp., Gau was president of Air System Components, a division of Tomkins.
Gau takes over from Tom Schroeder, a 19-year veteran of Intersystems who will remain a consultant to senior management.
“David’s experience building global businesses makes him the right person to lead Intersystems as it evolves to serve an expanding roster of domestic and international customers. He’s a proven leader, who thinks strategically and develops teams that focus on delivering results for customers,” said Michael Nelson, Pritzker Group Private Capital investment partner.
Pritzker Group acquired Intersystems in December 2012.
“Intersystems is well positioned to serve its customers and grow with them. I look forward to accelerating the vast potential we have to delight our customers with service, solutions and innovation,” said David Gau, Intersystems chief executive officer.
Gau is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
