Logan Willmert of InterStates Earns Silver Medal at Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) National Craft Championships

Sioux Center, IAInterstates is pleased to announce that Logan Willmert, Instrumentation Crew Leader, earned the silver medal in the Instrumentation Fitting category of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) National Craft Championships competition held April 29 – May 2 in Birmingham, AL.
Willmert joined 155 other craftspeople competing for top honors in 13 crafts.
Competitors completed an intense, two-hour written exam, followed by a full day of hands-on practical performance tests in their specialty area.
During the hands-on competition, individuals received a task assignment along with the materials to complete the assigned task.
Participants could reference equipment instruction manuals and had access to their project manager to ask questions in order to fully understand the scope of their assignment before beginning the project.
Individuals were evaluated on many levels including quality of workmanship, completion time, accuracy, and safety practices as they worked.
“It’s a huge honor for Logan to be recognized as one of the ‘Best in the Business’,” says Dave Crumrine, Interstates Construction President.
“His commitment to the trade and excellence in general, sets a high standard. We couldn’t be more pleased that he is setting the example here at Interstates.”
Interstates participates in the National Craft Championship program as a way to demonstrate commitment to quality workmanship and safe work practices.
Thirteen craft categories were represented in the National Craft Competition: carpentry, electrical-industrial, electrical-residential, fire sprinkler, HVAC, instrumentation fitting, insulation, millwright, pipefitting, plumbing, sheet metal, welding-pipe, and welding-structural.
