Atchison, KS—David Dykstra has been promoted to vice president of alcohol sales and marketing at MGP Ingredients, Inc. (MGPI) effective immediately.

He brings over 20 years of sales and marketing experience to his new position, most recently serving as industrial alcohol sales manager at the company since 2006.

"We are very pleased to elevate David to this key management role in our business," said Don Coffey, Ph.D., executive vice president of sales and marketing.

"His extensive experience in the alcohol industry, his business acumen and his initiative are tremendous assets.

"I am highly confident in his abilities to effectively serve the needs of our customers in both the premium beverage and high quality food grade industrial alcohol markets and help MGPI grow aggressively in these markets."

Dykstra attended Kansas State University, Manhattan, where he earned a bachelor's degree in marketing in 1987.

He joined MGP Ingredients the following year, eventually serving as director of sales for both beverage and fuel grade alcohol.

In 1999, he left the company to assume the role of vice president of sales and marketing for Abengoa Bio Energy, Wichita, Kansas.

He remained in that position until 2003, when he joined United Bio Energy Fuels, L.L.C., in Wichita as vice president of that company's alcohol marketing division.

He returned to MGPI in 2006.

"I am deeply grateful for the opportunity that MGP Ingredients has given me to perform in a broader, more significant capacity," Dykstra said.

"Our company has a history of supplying customers with world class alcohol products that spans nearly seven decades.

"I feel highly honored and privileged to be selected to extend that legacy by spearheading our alcohol sales activities and strategic growth initiatives through the further strengthening of our valued customer relationships."
