Midwest Service Station in Baltic, SD Offers E-85 Ethanol for $1.85 From 3-6 P.M. on Nov. 21 for Thanksgiving TravelersDate Posted: November 19, 2007 Baltic, SD--On November 21, Midway Service Station at 525402 475th Avenue in Baltic will celebrate becoming South Dakota’s latest station to offer E85, a cleaner-burning alternative fuel strongly supported by the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest, by reducing the price of the fuel to $1.85 per gallon from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. The first 25 E85 customers who stop at the Baltic station during the promotion get an even better price – 85 cents a gallon (limit 25 gallons per vehicle), courtesy of the South Dakota Corn Growers Council. The promotion is sponsored by Midway, The South Dakota Corn Growers Council, the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition and the American Lung Association of South Dakota. The American Lung Association of South Dakota is supporting efforts to break away from fossil-based fuels that contribute to air pollution. E85 is a gasoline alternative consisting of up to 85 percent ethanol and just 15 percent gasoline. E85 can be used interchangeably with gasoline in “flex-fuel” vehicles. Today, more than 6 million E85-capable flex-fuel vehicles are already on U.S. roadways. To see if your vehicle is flex-fuel, or a complete listing of all E85 stations in a six-state region, see the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest website.
