NCGA Says New Ethanol Paper Takes Another Look at Ethanol Energy BalanceDate Posted: February 8, 2007 Washington, DC -- Arguments over the net energy of ethanol versus other fuels miss the point, according to a new paper by Bruce E. Dale, professor of chemical engineering at Michigan State University. The National Corn Growers Association notes with interest that Dale says the net energy controversy surround ethanol is a false argument. He points out all energy sources need to be evaluated for their suitability to particular uses. For example, he explains, it is pointless to compare coal against ethanol to power vehicles.
