Date Posted: April 20, 2017
Randy Gordon, National Grain and Feed Association president, spoke April 20 about the importance of trade during a visit to Decatur, IL.
Gordon was speaking during a Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce Ag Cafe luncheon sponsored by Tate & Lyle.
U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Illinois, was the other featured speaker during the event.
Gordon says he might be preaching to the choir, but "now more than ever, it's time for the choir to start singing and talking about the benefits of trade."
Trade agreements have been very good for agriculture, Gordon says.
He says all of agriculture should come together to be singing from the same song sheet.
Gordon is part of efforts to reach out into the agricultural industry and gather a broad range of support for trade.
He says the group will be part of a grassroots dialogue that will include organizations at state and regional levels.
