Nearly 200 Attend First-Ever Safety Conference Co-sponsored by NGFA, Grain JournalDate Posted: August 3, 2010 A total of 195 participants took part in the first-ever Safety Conference July 28-29 cosponored by the National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) and Grain Journal magazine in Omaha, NE. The event, held at the Omaha Hilton downtown, also featured a tabletop trade show with 20 exhibitors. The 2010 Safety Conference replaces the annual Operations, Management & Technology (OMT) conference that had been sponsored by the NGFA and the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS). A survey taken of attendees at the 2010 conference elicited mostly positive comments. "Appreciate the topics, structure, and how the conference was run," one participant wrote. "This was overall an urgent, substantial, and worthwhile program," wrote another. Among the topics covered and the presenters: * Update on Emerging and Evolving Regulatory Issues -- OSHA and EPA.
