North Dakota Grain Dealers Assn. Celebrates 100 Years; Re-elects Paul Lautenschlager PresidentDate Posted: January 23, 2012 The North Dakota Grain Dealers Association celebrated 100 years in business during its Centennial convention at the Fargo Holiday Inn on January 15-17. The event included a Do You Remember When session of retired and senior elevator managers telling about how things were done in the grain business all the way back to the late 1800s. Another convention session focused on increased enforcement activity at grain elevators of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). At the annual business meeting Paul Lautenschlager, Manager of the Beach Co-op Grain Co. at Beach, ND was re-elected President of the Association. David Fiebiger, Manager of the Finley Farmers Grain & Elevator at Finley, ND was re-elected First Vice President. Cameron Erickson, Manager of the Souris River Cooperative at Russell, ND was re-elected Second Vice President. Newly elected to the nine-man Board is Gary Urlacher, Operations Manager/Grain Merchandiser at Dakota Quality Grain Cooperative in Parshall, ND. Retiring from the Board was Carrol Duerr, Manager of the Colfax Farmers Elevator at Colfax, ND. Registration for the convention was over 1000 people. It included a trade show of 82 firms that provide products and services to the grain elevator industry.
