Pro Farmer Newsletter has completed its 2013 tour of Cornbelt states to estimate corn and soybean yields.

Editor Chip Flory outlines the findings of the tour participants, which resulted in crop estimates slightly lower than USDA's August First Crop Report.

Pro Farmer estimated the US corn crop at 13.46 billion bushels with a 154.1 bushel per acre average. The soybean crop was estimated at 3.158 billion bushels, with a 41.8 bushel per acre average.

The estimates were made based on normal September weather, but Flory says the late-planted crop has a long ways to go before maturity. (10:30)
