RAE Contracts Delta-T, Austin AECOM to Build Three 108 MGPY Ethanol Plants by 2009

Date Posted: January 9, 2007

Boulder, CO and St. Louis, MO -- Renewable Agricultural Energy Inc. (RAE), an emerging leader in the biofuels industry, announced Jan. 8 that it has signed a letter of intent with Austin AECOM (an affiliate of AECOM Technology Corporation) to construct three new fuel ethanol facilities utilizing Delta-T Corporation (“Delta-T”) as its technology provider.

RAE intends to have three 108 million-gallon-per-year biofuel facilities operational by early 2009.

Under the management of Neal Jakel, RAE’s director of capital engineering, Austin AECOM will provide full engineering and construction management services, and Delta-T will provide the technology package for each of the three plants.

“By utilizing Delta-T’s proven technology and Austin AECOM’s demonstrated ability to oversee and construct complex bioprocessing plants, RAE expects to realize both near- and long-term benefits,” said Jakel.

“The flexibility of the Delta-T design, combined with the three companies’ shared interest in the incorporation and demonstration of new technologies, will allow RAE to build on the initial plant design and, over time, create fully diversified biorefineries."

Permitting is underway for the first RAE plant in Gothenburg, NE. Site evaluations are underway to finalize the remaining construction locations.

Construction is scheduled to begin at all three sites in 2007.
