Future Direction of Federal Crop Insurance Program

In recent years, debates on U.S. federal crop insurance programs have been some of the liveliest during farm bill consideration -- and this year has been no different.

Funding levels, prevented planting provisions, producer premiums...all have been hot topics.

Brandon Willis, Administrator of USDA's Risk Management Agency will discuss benefits of crop insurance to U.S. agriculture and to the general public, and his insights on the future of crop insurance as proposed in the 2013 farm bill.

Special Training Workshop -- Revised OSHA Hazard Communication Standard

By 2015, grain elevators will need to implement new Hazard Communication procedures required by OSHA -- but OSHA requires the training to be completed now!

Join Jess McCluer, NGFA's Director for Regulatory Affairs, for a special training workshop presented the afternoon before the Country Elevator Conference.

The hazard communication standard historically has been one of the most-cited violations by OSHA inspectors -- often because employers don't have a written compliance plan or haven't conducted proper training.

Don't let it happen to you!

The 42nd annual Country Elevator Conference and Trade Show agenda also features:

• Farm Bill: Patrick Westhoff, Director Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute

• Biofuels: Marty Ruikka, Principal, The ProExporter Network

• Economic Outlook: Terry Barr, Senior Director, Knowledge Exchange Group, CoBank
