Registration Open For GEAPS/K-State Facilities Planning and Design Distance Ed Course

Date Posted: October 1, 2013

Working on designing a new grain facility or updating a current building? Look no further than GEAPS 510: Grain Facilities Planning and Design for everything you need to know.

This new course from the GEAPS/Kansas State University Distance Education Program is now open for registration.

Originally created in 2002, GEAPS 510: Grain Facilities Planning and Design has been completely remade.

Participants will learn about grain facility and storage structure types, storage and handling capacities and selecting a suitable construction site.

Students will also practice laying out a simple facility design.

Whether you are a grain company executive, facility manager or equipment vendor, this course will prove invaluable.

"Mistakes in the initial layout and design of a grain handling facility can have a significant impact on its operational efficiency and profitability," said Robert Klare, director of international development at River Consulting, LLC, and one of the course's developers.

GEAPS 510 will give you the knowledge to succeed in your project.

GEAPS 510 counts towards your Credential in Grain Operations Management (CGOM).

GEAPS 544: Preventing Grain Dust Explosions and GEAPS 580: Hiring and Retaining Good Employees are also offered this fall.

Courses run Nov. 4-Dec. 6. Registration closes Oct. 29.
