Whether you are starting your career or just want a refresher in current industry practices, GEAPS 500: Introduction to Grain Operations Management will put you ahead of the competition.

Registration is now open for the second offering of this new course from the GEAPS/Kansas State University Distance Education Program that begins Sept. 3.

Developed by a task force of current industry employees, GEAPS 500: Introduction to Grain Operations Management gives a comprehensive overview designed in part to pass industry knowledge on to a new generation of professionals.

"The class offers content covering the basics of grain operational management issues that are critical to the future success of the industry," says course lecturer Jim Voigt, president of JFV Solutions.

Topics include how grain moves through a facility; main elevator types, components and equipment; grain receiving procedures; sampling, testing and grading; binning; housekeeping and maintenance; fumigation; outbound procedures; and more.

Completion of GEAPS 500 brings you closer to your Credential in Grain Operations Management from GEAPS' Credentialing Program, the first in the grain industry.

GEAPS 524: Grain Drying and GEAPS 552: Materials Handling III are also offered in September.

All courses run Sept. 3-Oct. 7. Registration closes Aug. 27.
