Registration opens April 29 for two GEAPS/Kansas State University distance education courses that begin May 28.
Learn more about grain inspection legislation and laws with GEAPS 522: FGIS Grain Inspection Orientation.
Specially developed by the USDA's Federal Grain Inspection Service in conjunction with GEAPS and K-State, it introduces professional grain handling and processing operations personnel to the history and basics of grain inspection.
GEAPS 551: Materials Handling II is the second course in a three-part series about the properties and flow characteristics of grains and other dry bulk materials.
Students will learn to determine various material characteristics and their effects on the selection and sizing of screw feeders, drag conveyors and bucket elevators.
The courses run May 28-July 1.
Registration closes May 21.
Enrollment for each course is limited to 60 students.
