Registration Open For January GEAPS/K-State Distance Ed Courses

Plan to learn something new in 2014! Registration opens today for three distance education classes from GEAPS and Kansas State University running Jan. 6-Feb. 7.
GEAPS 555: Advanced and Preventive Maintenance for Grain Facilities: Conveyance Equipment is a new course for professionals with experience in maintenance of grain equipment, and builds on the information in GEAPS 554: Equipment Maintenance I.
Lectures cover the maintenance and repair of equipment in grain facilities, looking at bucket elevator and conveyance equipment in particular.
GEAPS 555 is part of the Specialist Credential in Grain Handling Equipment Management
GEAPS 520: Grain Quality Management covers basic principles for grain elevator professionals whose jobs involve assessing, managing and maintaining grain quality.
Updated in 2013, it provides an overview of industry practices on topics such as moisture content determination, the relationship between air and grain properties, insect pest prevention and control strategies and quality factors of grains and oilseeds.
GEAPS 520 is part of the Credential in Grain Operations Management (CGOM)
GEAPS 522: FGIS Grain Inspection Orientation introduces students to the basics of U.S. grain inspection.
This recently updated class was developed by the USDA‘s Federal Grain Inspection Service in conjunction with GEAPS and Kansas State University, and is ideal for those just beginning their careers in the U.S. grain industry and anyone whose job deals with the U.S. grain inspection and marketing systems.
GEAPS 522 is part of the Specialist Credential in Grain Quality Management
