You'll learn to make timely pest management decisions while protecting the quality of your stored grain--and the environment.
GEAPS 525 puts a world on insect-management knowledge at your fingertips—no travel required. The five-week course will be offered March 8 through April 16, 2010. Registration ends February 10, 2010. The course will accept up to 50 students on a first-come, first-served basis.
The course is designed to benefit a wide variety of grain-industry professionals, from trainee to facility superintendent, merchandiser to operations manager. Students will progress through the course together in a structured, supervised program developed and reviewed by professionals in the field. All of the class material is based on current industry practices and standards, and class participants can expect a strong dose of real-world expertise.
The cost to attend the course is $515 for GEAPS members and $715 for non-members. The non-member rate includes GEAPS membership through June 30, 2011.
The course “textbooks” are CDs that are mailed to students, who link together through a dedicated class Web site supervised by Kansas State University. The site contains the course syllabus, a networking component that enables discussion between students and faculty, and online quizzes.
Students are expected to progress through the classes together, but can study or take quizzes any time of the day or night. No travel is required.
