Renewable Energy Group Producing Biodiesel at Six of 15 Planned Plants

A year ago, Renewable Energy Group, Inc. (REG), Ralston, IA, announced a plan to expand its biodiesel production, both owned and managed, to 640 million gallons per year (MMGY) at 15 plants by 2009.

Presently REG has six plants are online, one will go online this year, two are scheduled to start production in 2008, four are in the pre-construction stage, and two on the drawing board, according to REG Communications Specialist Alicia Clancy.

The following is a list of plants owned by REG:

> Ralston, IA*, 12 MMGY, began production in 2003.

> New Orleans, LA, 60 MMGY, scheduled production in second quarter of 2008.

> Emporia, KS, 60 MMGY, scheduled production in third quarter of 2008.

> Cairo, IL, 60 MMGY, pre-construction.

The following are REG built and managed facilities:

> SoyMor Biodiesel, LLC*, Albert Lea, MN, 30 MMGY, began production summer 2005.

> Western Iowa Energy, LLC*, Wall Lake, IA, 30 MMGY, began production summer 2006.

> Central Iowa Energy, LLC, Newton, IA, 30 MMGY, began production spring 2007.

> Iowa Renewable Energy, LLC, Washington, IA,30 MMGY, began production summer 2007.

> Western Dubuque Biodiesel, LLC, Farley, IA, 30 MMGY, began production summer 2007.

> East Fork Biodiesel, LLC, Algona, IA, 60 MMGY, scheduled production fourth quarter of 2007.

> Heartland Biodiesel, LLC, Rock Port, MO, 30 MMGY, pre-construction.

> Blackhawk Biofuels, LLC, Freeport, IL, 30 MMGY, pre-construction.

> Victory Renewable Fuels, LLC, Rock Rapids, IA, 30 MMGY, pre-construction.

* Indicates plants that are designated as a BQ-9000 accredited producer.
