Safe Renewables Corp. Increases Number of Biodiesel Retail Pumps in San Antonio, TX

Date Posted: February 9, 2007

San Antonio, TX -– The city made famous by the Alamo, and its fierce Texas spirit now has another source of Texas pride. The addition of biodiesel fueling pumps at an increasing number of San Antonio area Petro Pantry convenience stores gives local diesel drivers the ability to buy biodiesel fuel produced by Texas company Safe Renewables Corp. from crops grown by Texas farmers.

With the current volatility in gasoline and diesel fuel prices--brought on by an unstable international petroleum supply-- two Texas-owned companies, Austin Biofuels, LLC (biodiesel marketer for Safe Renewables Corp.) and Midtex Oil LP have joined forces to expand the availability of domestically produced fuel alternatives in the San Antonio area.

“I use biodiesel in my trucks whenever I can,” said Todd Herman, owner of the San Antonio company Diesel Toyz. “Diesel engines love it. It’s made right here in Texas, and available in San Antonio. Why wouldn’t I use it?"

Jaden Crawford, Wholesale Accounts Manager for Austin Biofuels and Safe Renewables, said, “It’s exciting to see local petroleum companies, like Midtex Oil LP, embracing biodiesel not only as a high-quality petroleum alternative, but also as a viable and profitable petroleum alternative."

Crawford added, “I’ve lost count of how many calls we’ve had from people in the San Antonio area who want to know where they can get biodiesel. The addition of biodiesel at these Petro Pantry convenience stores has really enabled us to serve this consumer base."

Safe Renewables’ B5 biodiesel fuel sells for about the same price per gallon as regular diesel at the Petro Pantry stations located at 4415 West Ave. and 12434 Nacogdoches in San Antonio; and at 1530 W. Loop 1604 and 11102 W. Loop 1604 in North San Antonio.

Russell Fischer, Vice President of Wholesale Operations for Midtex Oil, said “We realize the importance of alternative fuels, and we’re excited to provide drivers in San Antonio with four locations to buy biodiesel.”
