NGFA and Grain Journal magazine will cosponsor an Elevator Design Conference July 30-Aug. 1 at the Omaha Hilton in Omaha, Neb.
The one-and-a-half-day conference will focus on the theme “Applying New Standards and Technologies for New and Retrofit Facilities.”
The conference, which is being planned by a steering committee consisting of representatives from several NGFA committees and the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS), will feature eight 90-minute and one 1.5-hour sessions all day Wednesday, July 31, and the morning of Thursday, Aug. 1.
There will be an opening reception the evening of Tuesday, July 30. A trade show also will be featured.
The sessions will focus on:
• Standards and Codes: Updates on Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards and policies, as well as National Fire Protection Association standards development. Outcomes of a new bin-venting study.
• Elevator design project scope definition/development.
• Grain storage.
• Drying and aeration.
• Material handling.
• Dust collection systems.
• Electrical systems.
• Automation control systems.
• Contractor selection / post-project considerations.
