Seedburo 2007 Moisture Meter CalibrationsDate Posted: May 13, 2007 Seedburo Equipment Company, Chicago, IL announced in mid-May, 2007 that the National Type Evaluation Program (NTEP) is updating calibrations for the company’s Model 1200A automatic moisture tester for the 2007 year. The 1200A is enrolled in the NTEP ongoing grain-calibration program, which is coordinated by the National Conference of Weights & Measures. The NTEP laboratory is located at the USDA-GIPSA Technical Center in Kansas City, MO. According to Seedburo President Tom Runyon, calibrations for several of the 15 NTEP-monitored grains have been changed on the 1200A tester. “These changes involve modification to the approved ranges,” said Runyon, “and improvements with the correlation to the official reference air oven at the Kansas City laboratory and the other moisture meansurement instruments.” The Canadian Grain Comission (CGC) has also notified Seedburo that the 1200A-CAN, which is the official grain moisture instrument in Canada, will have some calibration changes this year.
