Stu Letcher to Succeed Steve Strege as North Dakota Grain Dealers Assn. Executive Vice President

Date Posted: March 25, 2014

The North Dakota Grain Dealers Association (NDGDA) Board of Directors in March announced that current NDGDA Safety and Health Director Stu Letcher would succeed Steve Strege as executive vice president effective June 1.

Strege has led the association since June 1, 1979.

He started with the association in September 1976 as field representative.

“I’m grateful to NDGDA members, directors, and the staff with whom it has been my privilege to work through the years,” Strege said.

“This is not a one-man show,” he added.

“A leader can set the tone, but he is only as good as the people working for him.”

Letcher has been on the organization’s staff since October 1998. He began as safety specialist and transitioned to safety and health director in early 2004.

“We’ve accomplished some important things together,” Strege continued.

“I know that Stu and the capable people he will soon lead will carry on and build on that.”

"I would like the thank the NDGDA directors for giving me this opportunity and a special thanks to Steve for his years of mentoring and leadership," said Letcher.

"I would not be in the position I am without it.

"He leaves big shoes to fill, but I hope to continue his tradition of strong leadership for association members."

NDGDA now will be seeking a new safety director.
