TEGMA Fall Symposium ... Sept. 16-17 ... Omaha, NE

Kansas City, MO—The Transportation, Elevator, and Grain Merchants Association (TEGMA) announced July 28 an exceptional line-up of speakers who will address a wide range of business and operational issues at the association’s annual Fall Symposium on September 16 and 17, 2010 in Omaha, NE.

TEGMA Chairman Bob Knief noted the Fall Symposium has proved a popular industry event through the years as shippers, receivers, and the transportation grain industry prepare for the fall harvest season.

Knief said the speakers now confirmed for the meeting include the following:

Jim Anderson, Chief Operating Officer, Gavilon Fertilizer

• Hon. Daniel R. Elliott III, Chairman, Surface Transportation Board

Lance Holden, Senior Vice President, Wells Fargo NA

James R. Young, Chairman, President, and CEO, Union Pacific Railroad

In addition, Greg Edelblute, chairman of the Kansas City Board of Trade’s Wheat Contract Committee, will be on hand to provide an update on issues facing the exchange’s Hard Red Winter wheat contract.

Edelblute is vice president of Cereal Food Processors.

For the first time, TEGMA will be holding its meeting in conjunction with the annual meeting of the National Grain Car Council.

The meeting session on Thursday afternoon, September 16, will be the National Grain Car Council session with TEGMA members invited.

The meeting session on Friday morning, September 17, will be the TEGMA session, with National Grain Car Council members invited to attend.

The meeting will be held at the Hilton Omaha near the city’s historic Old Market district.
