Tenaska Biodiesel Acquisition Will Enhance Company Marketing, Transportation and Storage Capabilities

Date Posted: March 6, 2008

Omaha, NE—Tenaska BioFuels, LLC (TBF) of Omaha has acquired the business of Edible Oil Marketing, LLC (EOM), an Omaha-based biodiesel and vegetable oil marketing and trading company.

EOM is active in trading various oils derived from corn, soybeans, sunflowers and palm.

The acquisition will also provide TBF with additional biofuels transportation and storage assets, including railcars and terminal storage facilities in Hammond, IN, and St. Rose, LA, according to TBF Vice President and General Manager Dave Neubauer.

TBF is an affiliate of Tenaska, one of the nation's largest privately held power generation and energy marketing businesses.

TBF provides procurement, marketing, logistics and financial services to the growing ethanol and biodiesel industries.

Edible Oil Marketing's personnel will transfer to TBF, and its president, Brian Engel, will become TBF's vice president of trading.

"The acquisition of EOM's business will enhance our ability to offer marketing and procurement services for ethanol and biodiesel producers," said Neubauer.

"The addition of EOM brings us instant expertise and credibility in the vegetable oil markets, which is essential for securing feedstock for our biodiesel customers and in helping our ethanol customers as they add corn oil recovery processes to their facilities," Neubauer added.
