Tom Welke Named President of GSI Grain

Assumption, IL—Tom Welke has joined GSI Group as as President, GSI Grain.

Reporting directly to CEO Scott Clawson, Welke will assume leadership of the all grain business.

Welke brings a wealth of management experience to GSI from his previous career experiences at Whirlpool and other global companies.

Most recently, Welke served as Vice President and General Manager for Whirlpool’s Small Appliance business ($600+ million in revenues) where he and his team achieved significant improvements in revenue, profit and working capital.

Previous to that, Welke was Vice President and General Manager of Demand and Supply Planning.

He also served as Vice President and General Manager for North American Consumer Services for Whirlpool, which was responsible for $450 million in aftermarket and service business.

His background also includes experience in finance, human resources, brand management, marketing, engineering, and customer service.

Welke earned his economics degree at Kalamazoo College and his MBA from the University of Michigan.
