Vision Fuels Cancels Two Planned 110-MMGY Ethanol Plants in Boone and Liscomb IA; To Concentrate on Plant in Des Moines

Date Posted: July 16, 2008

Sugar Land, TX—-Ethanol start-up Vision Fuels LLC's (Urbandale, Iowa) plans to build three Iowa fuel ethanol plants has been cut down to just one plant. Like many companies looking to build ethanol plants, projects have been canceled or put on hold because of record-high corn prices and market uncertainty.

The company had plans to build two identical 110 million-gallon-per-year plants in Boone and Liscomb, Iowa, and is now only concentrating on a single site for a 110 million-gallon-per-year plant in Des Moines, Iowa.

Praj Industries Limited (BOM:522205) (Pune, India) will provide the licensed ethanol process technology for the $247 million project.
