Wheat Growers (SD) Hosts Open House at Kimball Agronomy Canter
Date Posted: February 12, 2014
Kimball, SD—Wheat Growers Kimball Agronomy Center Open House brought more than 125 area member-owners out to see what the new facility has to offer.
“We provide ag chemical sales, fertilizer, seed, also custom application for liquid and dry,” Jahn Schumacher, the Operations Supervisor at Kimball said.
“We also do strip tilling and we have agronomy services with two agronomists on site to help with any of your questions and needs for scouting for your field.”
“The main reason we built this location is to serve our customers better,” Justin Ranek, Wheat Growers Regional Sales Manager, said.
“We all know equipment’s getting bigger every single year.
"It seems like the window of the time we get the crop in the ground is getting smaller every year. So, this is a building, a service center that will help us be able to stay ahead of our growers’ needs.”
Wheat Growers also provided informational sessions on Crop Return Per Acre, a Grain Market Outlook, and Precision Ag. This full-service agronomy retail facility is part of Wheat Growers’ service center concept.
“Our service center concept really revolves around getting products and product knowledge closer to the producer,” Chris Pearson, Wheat Growers Vice President of Operations, said.
“We just think it’s really important to provide that service, and to provide it in a way that we’re easier to do business with, closer to the farmer, and that we can provide that knowledge for them to help grow better crops.”
Wheat Growers’ Kimball Agronomy Center is located just north of the Interstate 90 Highway 45 exit.
