AIRLANCO AirAuger Bin Unloading System

Date Posted: December 6, 2006

Falls City, NE--AIRLANCO, a manufacturer of aeration equipment and systems, has introduced a new system to empty large bins.

The AIRLANCO AIRAUGER™ system uses pitched flooring and air pressure to cause grain to flow to the discharge outlet.

Installation

AIRAUGER installation begins with a sloped and ridged concrete floor inside the storage unit.

Perforated steel decking is built into the valleys between the raised concrete ridges which slope toward the decking.

Exterior ductwork and channels in the concrete floor route air from a high-capacity fan into the storage area and through the perforated decking to aerate the material being unloaded.

Operation

“The air fluidizes and moves stored product along the sloping floor to the discharge point,” President Ron Krebs says.

“All mechanical components are kept outside the storage unit to simplify maintenance and service.”

An AIRLANCO direct-drive centrifugal fan provides high-pressure air that circulates through the exterior ducting and flows through the perforated interior decking.

A rugged steel housing and non-overloading, vibration-proof fan wheel enhance performance and durability, says Krebs.

Low power consumption combined with generous air delivery, adds Krebs, result in a low-cost, efficient fan and system that can handle demanding conditions.
