When completed, Siouxland Ethanol will produce 50 million gallons of ethanol annually using 18 million bushels of corn from the region.

The plant will provide 32-36 news jobs for the local area.

Fagen, Inc. of Granite Falls, MN is handling both construction and management of the project.

ICM, Inc. of Colwich, KS will provide the process design.

“In these times of high gas prices and tight supply, ethanol is providing much-needed fuel for American motorists,” Jennings added.

“But ethanol does so much more than just extend the fuel supply – it is a clean burning, renewable, high performance fuel that is made right here at home.

"The local owners of Siouxland Ethanol should be very proud of their contribution to our nation’s environment, economy, and energy security.”

The ground breaking ceremony is planned for Friday morning, November 4 at the plant site, located 1 ˝ miles west of Jackson on U.S. Highway 20.

Nebraska is the nation’s third largest producer of ethanol.

Currently, 91 ethanol plants are operating across the country with a total capacity of 4 billion gallons of ethanol annually.
