Partially Prefabricated Elevator Tower Saves Time During Installation

Harris Companies Inc. since 1960 has served the grain industry providing special purpose personnel elevator service and repair and electrical service.

In 2003, the company expanded into the manufacture and installation of special purpose personnel elevators. In the summer of 2018, Harris introduced an elevator tower that is pre-assembled to save time on installation.

According to Vice President Scott Harris, “Our elevator tower is pre-assembled in our fabrication shop, and we install as much equipment as possible along with some pre-wiring. This can save time on field installation and significantly reduce installation costs. These self-supporting, structural steel enclosed towers are designed to be attached to a structure when there isn’t enough space inside the building to add an elevator.”

Easy Stacking

“They are built in maximum 20-foot sections for ease of stacking in the field, and the ends are match marked for field assembly,” adds Harris.
