Blender pumps could be the new way to increase ethanol demand.

According to Ron Lamberty, American Coalition for Ethanol vice-president/market development, where blender pumps have been installed consumers have increased their use of ethanol-blended gasoline.

Today's petroleum marketers can benefit from adding ethanol at their stations in two ways:

  • Installing blenders pumps.
  • Retailing ethanol beyond 10% blends.

Blender pumps have been used for years to blend and dispense unleaded and premium gasoline to give customers several octane choices. They are now finding a home in the retailing of ethanol fuels, offering stations the unique opportunity to offer mid-range blends between E10 and E85.

Ron Lamberty, ACE vice president/market development, will present a webinar "Blender Pumps: The Case for Higher Blends of Ethanol," 2 p.m. Central, Tuesday, July 29.

The Webinar will include details on:

  • How stations benefit from the blending economics of higher-volume ethanol sales.
  • How consumers are asking for a wider range of choice at the pump.
  • Case studies of a number of Midwestern stations taking this unique approach to retailing ethanol fuels and how it has worked for them.
  • Research showing the potential of higher blends on mileage and performance of vehicles.
  • Minnesota's requirement for 20% ethanol blended into all gasoline.

BioFuels Journal Editor Myke Feinman will host this one-hour live PowerPoint presentation.
