Short Documentary Movie That Inspired Making of "SILO" Re-released

Four years ago, the SILO team met farmers Adam Fox and Clay Althoff of Rising Sun, Indiana. Together, we made the 10-minute documentary, SILO: Edge of the Real World, which premiered in 2017 at the TriBeCa Film Festival in New York City. The success of the 10-minute documentary helped inspire the full-length, award-winning feature film you know, SILO.

In honor of planting season, and because we can't currently gather for screenings of the full-length feature film, the SILO team is re-releasing SILO: Edge of the Real World. Starting today, you can view the documentary here for free. Please share this information with your audiences, partners, and anyone in your community who will benefit from it.

SILO will also be hosting a Facebook Live event on Monday, April 6th at 7pm EST. Tune in to hear from farmers Quint Pottinger (Affinity Farms), Adam Fox (Fox Family Farm), and me! We'll be talking about what it was like filming on their farms and how SILO has changed their approaches to farm safety.

Attached is a Discussion Guide to accompany the film that we created with the University of Kentucky’s Ag Education program and the Southeast Center for Agricultural Safety and Injury Prevention. This resource helps students take concepts introduced in the documentary and apply them to their own lives and communities. Thanks for supporting our farmers!
