WATCH: AFIA Board Chairman Discusses Industry Response to COVID-19, AFIA Policy Priorities

“What impressed me most was how well our industry here in America has responded and stepped up to the challenges the pandemic has posed. Despite some rough economic headwinds coming our way, I think the general tone of leaders in our industry is very positive, after all, as an industry, we’re used to dealing with turbulent and changing times.”

At its recent meeting, the American Feed Industry Association’s Board of Directors discussed many topics, but Scott Druker of Church & Dwight Company, the new Board chair for 2020-21, said that at the forefront was the industry’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

From labor challenges to supply chain interruptions, members discussed some of the ways they have managed recent challenges and looked ahead at some that could arise in the months to come. He also discussed the association’s key policy priorities for the next year, including improving the feed ingredient approval process, working to ensure coronavirus relief efforts help farmers and ranchers, and maintaining access to international markets.
