Man, 65, Dies After Being Pulled Into Grain Bin in Northwest Iowa

LE MARS, Iowa — A 65-year-old man has died after being pulled into a grain bin near Le Mars, Iowa, according to a report from KTIV, citing authorities.

The Plymouth County Sheriff's Office says at about 9:50 a.m. Tuesday they received an emergency call of a man trapped in a grain bin. The sheriff's office says the grain bin was located about five miles east of Le Mars.

The man had been inside the grain bin loosening the stuck corn, the sheriff's office said. The victim had safety measures in place but was still pulled into the corn when the crust broke. The body of the victim was recovered at 10:50 a.m.

The victim's name has not yet been released.
